Danish Organic Dairy: A Tradition Rooted in Nature

Show transcript

My name is Per Godsk Nielsen and I'm the CEO of this dairy plant here,

situated in the middle of Denmark.

We are very coastal near to the North Sea and the fjord.

So it's very ideal for dairy farms.

The dairy company was founded in 1987 and the focus was to produce

organic milk.

Danish organic farmers are our first line of prime protection.

They care very much about the quality of the raw materials.

The organic certified logo is really building trust in the consumer.

It guarantees that you are buying products,

produced the organic way, taking care of environment,

the surrounding nature, the biodiversity,

and also taking a responsibility on the animal welfare.

An ordinary day for a milking cow is really about eating, grassing,

and then resting and of course milking.

The grassing plays a very important role within organic dairy farming.

It's a higher standard of animal welfare, so it's all interconnected.

And when you do those things,

you have a positive impact on the surrounding biodiversity and the nature.
