Visit of Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, to Finland

On 29 august 2025, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, travelled to Helsinki, capital of Finland. She met Petteri Orpo, Finnish Prime Minister. The President and the Prime Minister were briefed on Europe's response to Russia's shadow fleet and threats from seabed warfare targeting critical undersea infrastructure like communication and power cables, and energy pipelines. President von der Leyen also participated in a working dinner hosted by Alexander Stubb, President of Finland.
