we're wondering, that if having an age ban would cause issues for freedom of expression. Online.

There's also some concerns about age verification procedures,

which could cause problems for, the right to private life.

and there were recommendations issued for the next steps.

So we've looked at these recommendations and we are currently preparing for the next stage.

So the concerns you've raised are being taken into account.

Just a little point to add to what's just been said.

You talked about protection of private life and age verification.

Europe already has the solution at its disposal.

The European Commission has developed a European age verification tool which can be used by all citizens in all member states.

It's important to remember that our citizens ID documents are only used to certify your age and to implement your application.

So when a European citizen wants to connect to an online platform or a site which has age restrictions,

The age verification tool will of course protect personal data.

So the platform will have no access to this document.

The platform will not know the person's date of birth or their identity.

The only piece of information that they get is a confirmation that Citizen X has is the required age to access this platform.

So, the EU has the most restrictive data protection legislation in the world.

And that will all be part of the next proposal that the Commission is actively working on.
