So firstly, I can confirm that the Commission, after a thorough assessment,

considers that the Czech Prime Minister is in a potential situation of conflict of interest in relation to the management of cohesion policy and agricultural funds.

The Commission considers that the trust fund set up by Mr. Babs does not sufficiently mitigate this situation.

As required under Union law,

the Czech Prime Minister should not take any action which may bring his own interests into conflict with those of the union.

The Czech authorities must take appropriate measures to prevent a conflict of interest from arising in the functions under their responsibility and to address situations which may objectively be perceived as a conflict of interest. And specifically on, the funds.

Until, until the Czech authorities take appropriate measures to address this situation,

the Commission has requested national authorities not to declare to the European Commission any expenditure related to operations selected as of 9 December 2025 related to cohesion funds if such operations involve entities controlled by and associated with Mr.
