On 21 April 2026, Koen Lenaerts, President of the Court of Justice of the European Union, delivered at the Court of Justice of the EU in Luxembourg, the General Court ruled in the case C-769/22 ‘Commission v Hungary’.
This case deals with Hungary’s restrictions on access to LGBTI-related content. The Court assessed the compatibility of the restrictions with EU law, particularly the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU (freedom of expression and non-discrimination), as well as internal market rules on the free provision of services.
