On 25 September 2025 in the margins of the United Nations General Assembly, Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, attended the High-Level Opening Session of the G20 Ministerial Meeting in New York, United States.
Discussions focused on reforming global governance institutions, strengthening peace and security through dialogue, and advancing sustainable development with attention to inequality and the needs of developing countries. Ministers highlighted closer cooperation with the UN and other multilateral bodies and stressed the importance of delivering concrete, measurable outcomes. The session reaffirmed the G20’s commitment to peace as a foundation for sustainable growth and inclusive international cooperation.
