On 22 September 2025, Dan Jørgensen, European Commissioner for Energy and Housing, travelled to New York, United States, to attend the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
On this occasion, Dan Jørgensen participated the High-level Dialogue on Accelerating the Transition Away from Oil and Gas for Climate, Energy and Economic Security organised by the Beyond Oil and Gas Alliance (BOGA), in a panel discussion on the future of the global energy transition at Climate Week NYC organised by the Center on Global Energy Policy (CGEP) and Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and in the Global Renewables Summit organised by the Global Renewables Alliance. He also met with Sheldon Whitehouse, US Senator for Rhode Island.
During this UN General Assembly High-Level Week, the focus of EU engagement was to renew its commitment to multilateralism based on international law, including the UN Charter. The EU worked on deepening partnerships across regions, mobilising collective action for peace and security, advancing sustainable development, and upholding the universality of human rights.
