Connie Hedegaard was born in 1960 in Holbaek, Denmark. She graduated in Literature and History, and was former Danish Minister for the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in December 2009. She has successively been Danish Minister for Environment, and Minister for Climate and Energy since 2004.
She has been designated Member of the EC in charge of Climate Action. Each Member designate of the EC faced a hearing with MEPs. The committee covering the area of competence of each Member of the EC, will hold a hearing from 11 to 19 January 2010. In advance of the hearing by the European Parliament of the Member designate of the EC Connie Hedegaard on 15/01/2010, the Audiovisual Service of the European Commission has produced a stockshots, which contains the following footages:
- the Member designate of the EC speaking at the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, and giving an interview;
- and the Member designate of the EC at work in her office in Brussels.
