Commissioner designate: Rumiana Jeleva
Rumiana Jeleva was born in 1969 in Bulgaria. She graduated in Sociology, and has been Member of the EP from 2007 to 2009. She has been Bulgarian Minister for Foreign Affairs since 2009, and Member of the GERB - Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (EPP).
She has been designated Member of the EC in charge of International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response.
Each Member designate of the EC faced a hearing with MEPs. The committee covering the area of competence of each Member of the EC, will hold a hearing from 11 to 19 January 2010.
In advance of the hearing by the European Parliament of the Member designate of the EC Rumiana Jeleva on 12/01/2010, the Audiovisual Service of the European Commission has produced a stockshots, which contains the following footages:
