Honorable President, honorable members, thank you for this predominantly constructive debate.

I welcome our shared commitment to strengthening the competitiveness of Europe's chemical industry.

At the same time, please, let me be clear, the protection of consumers' health remains our priority.

The agreed text reflects scientific assessments where a substance is considered unsafe, the shortest transitional period applies, where it is considered safe for a particular use,

but must nevertheless be phased out a longer period allows businesses to adapt without unnecessarily disrupting the market.

This will ensure that regulatory measures are proportionate to the actual risk,

while giving businesses realistic timelines to reformulate their products and comply with the new requirements. That simplification does not mean deregulation.

Our ambition is to reduce unnecessary administrative burdens and compliance costs,

while maintaining a high level of protection of human health and the environment.

These objectives should not be seen as competing priorities,

but as a mutually reinforcing goals.

The agreement is an important step in this direction.

It will provide much needed relief to European businesses and contribute to a more competitive and resilient chemicals industry,

and therefore encourage you to support the agreement in today's vote. Thank you.

Thank you very much, honorable Commissioner, and now we are going to finish with the two reporters. The first one is my colleague, Mr. Tsiodras.

Thank you, Colleagues,

I would like to thank you for the views and comments that you shared during today's debate.

My thanks also to my co-rapporteur, the shadow rapporteurs, our negotiating teams at Parliament's services,

as well as the Commission and the Council, for their valuable contributions.

This agreement is the result of constructive cooperation across almost all political groups.

We listened to different perspectives, found common ground and reached a balanced compromise.

This shows that Parliament can deliver practical answers to citizens' concerns and businesses' needs.

We have secured similar rules for businesses while keeping the protection of health and the environment at the heart of our legislation.

I therefore invite you to support this agreement and send a clear message together.

Europe can protect its citizens and at the same time promote innovation.

Thank you very much, dear colleague and the other rapporteur, Mr. Müller.

Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to follow all the businesses, technologists,

and sectoral organizations and the workers of the companies we've been talking about. Thank them for the help they've given. So for example, the chemicals industry associations.

I've had an opportunity to go along to some of these companies to see for myself how.

These companies work in my own constituency to take a look at the whole cosmetic product manufacturing process and the impact of the European rules,

and I'd like to thank the people working in these. Places for showing me all of this.

We've heard two types of voices in the room, those who feel and believe that we are simplifying too much, that we're deregulating, that we're lowering the level of safety,

and I'd like to reassure you that when it comes to cosmetic chemical fertilizer products,

they're not going to be less safe, quite the opposite. We are simplifying, but we are.

Maintaining the very high safety standards, we want these companies to realize their potential so that they can invest in innovative products, but I do agree with those voices,

those colleagues who felt that perhaps there's too little simplification and we should perhaps be taking further steps to simplify more,

but. Yes, you have to find a compromise.

It's not the ideal compromise,

but it's better to have a compromise that's heading in the right direction rather than wait several years down the line to act and then obviously to conclude something very important energy costs,

yes.

Simplification, but we have to do as much as possible to bring down energy costs in Europe so that these industries fertilizer industry,

cosmetic and chemical industry are able to work effectively and be competitive. Thank you. Thank you very much, Mr. Mueller. The debate is closed. The vote will be held today. The sea is suspended.

It will resume in a few minutes with the announcement of the Sakharov Prize and the boats. Thank you very much.
