Extracts from the press conference by Ricardo Levi, Spokesperson of Romano Prodi, President of the EC, and by Neil Kinnock, Vice-President of the EC, on the restructuring of the EC and the press services
On 18 September 1999, the new College of the European Commission held its first official meeting, in Brussels. Following this meeting, Neil Kinnock, Vice-President of the EC, and Ricardo Levi, Spokesperson of Romano Prodi, President of the EC, held a joint press conference. Neil Kinnock focused on the reform of the Commission and the decisions adopted on the matter. Ricardo Levi presented changes for the press service with the introduction of new technologies, internet services aiming to more efficiency and fastness.
