First weekly meeting of the new Prodi Commission, 18/09/1999

The new Prodi Commission officially convened for the first time Saturday 18th September and was confronted with three fundamental challenges : the enlargement of the European Union and the way in which it influences the relations with neighbouring countries, the reform of the Institutions and the planning of the next intergovernmental conference as well as the economic growth guarantee, job creation and sustainable development.
