On 10 September 2026, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, travelled to Paris, France, to participate in the International Space Summit. 

The event brought together numerous participants, including Heads of State and Government from around the world, as well as representatives from international and regional organisations, parliamentarians, scientists, military personnel, astronauts, decision-makers from the private sector, civil society, local communities and development banks. It provided an opportunity for all to engage in dialogue and address the challenges facing the space sector.
