On 20 November 2025, Wopke Hoekstra, European Commissioner for Climate, Net Zero and Clean Growth, took part in the COP30 to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), held in Belém, Brazil. During the event, the Commissioner led the EU negotiating team and collaborated with the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU and the Member States to ensure that COP30 made progress towards achieving the Paris Agreement. He also attended the plenary sessions and high-level ministerial meetings, particularly those focusing on climate action, just transition, pre-2030 ambition, and the Baku Dialogue on Adaptation.
