On 20 April 2023, Nicolas Schmit, European Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights, attended a plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France, on Cohesion dimension of EU state aid and de minimis rules.

In the de minimis Regulation, the European Commission sets out the basis under which small amounts of public aid given to an undertaking would not count as State aid in the sense of Articles 107 and 108 of the treaty.
