On 29 September 2026, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, took part in the ‘Connecting Europe by Air’ event at the Skyhall at Brussels Airport, in Belgium, as part of Connecting Europe Days 2026. In his opening address, he highlighted the strategic role of aviation in Europe’s connectivity, competitiveness and global influence, as well as the priorities of the future European strategy for aviation and aerospace, notably decarbonisation, digitalisation, innovation, safety and the sector’s resilience.
