On 15 March 2024, 2024, Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, travelled to Greenland.There, she met with Múte Bourup Egede, Greenlandic Prime Minister, and Mette Frederiksen, Danish Prime Minister, with whom she signed two new agreements. EU committed €94 million under Global Gateway to invest in education, new skills for the future, clean energy transition and the raw materials needed for it. She then visited Nuuk with them.
