
On 24 February 2023, as part of the public activities marking the first year since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine - and pay tribute to the Ukrainian courage and resistance, the European Commission hosted an exhibition of Ukrainian children’s drawings “Mriyu” (“I dream”). Dubravka Šuica, Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of Democracy and Demography, took part in the inauguration by ensuring the opening speech. Vsevolod Chentsov, Head of the Mission of Ukraine to the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community also attended the inauguration, together with Natalia Melnyk, Coordinator for Ukrainian civil society in Belgium.
This is part of a broad charity project aimed at collecting funds for the young painters and their families.
