On 30 June and 1 July 2019, Cecilia Malmström, Member of the EC in charge of Trade, went in Hanoi.On the 1st day, Cecilia Malmström participated in the signing ceremony of the Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the Investment Protection Agreement (IPA). These agreements promoted economic development, reinforced trade and investments ties between Vietnam and the EU. The agreements are part of the framework established by the EU-Viet Nam Partnership and Cooperation Framework Agreement, which governs the bilateral relations between Vietnam and the EU.On the 2nd day, Cecilia Malmström participated in the Dialogue on EVFTA and IPA, particularly on the business opportunities that these agreements created.
