On 5 December 2016, Marianne Thyssen, Member of the EC in charge of Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Labour Mobility, participated in the opening event of the European Vocational Skills Week. In this context, she visited the Campus Leerhaven and its training vessel "Themis II" in Antwerp, together with Hilde Crevits, Vice-Minister-President and Minister for Education of the Government of Flanders.
This first European Vocational Skills Week, organised by the European Commission from 5 to 9 December 2016, aims to inspire people to discover, use and improve their talents and abilities through vocational training.
