On 22 July 2026, Roxana Mînzatu, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for Social Rights and Skills, Quality Jobs and Preparedness, held a press conference in Brussels, Belgium, to present the Communication on the European Pillar of Social Rights. 

During the conference, she announced that the College discussed the European Pillar of Social Rights, security in relation to Ukraine, and the establishment of a temporary Security College Secretariat. She explained that all 20 principles of the Pillar were all equally important, comparing them to the point on a compass. She also described achievements such as the pay transparency directive, the adequate minimum wage directive, and the child guarantee. She presented new priorities, such as activating the 50 million Europeans outside the labour market, addressing the impact of AI on jobs through a high-level expert group and the Quality Jobs Act, and enforcing pay transparency. Finally, she announced a new European Day for workplace accident victims on 8 August.
