CYBER SECURITY ACT - China Chamber of Commerce to the EU report: Q&A
So I have a question regarding the recent report by the China Chamber of Commerce to the EU and the KPMG on the proposed revision of the Cybersecurity Act.
The report estimates that the supplier replacement linked to the revised Cyber Security Act could cost the EU up to €367.8 billion over the next five years.
So, I, I want to know what is, the commission's response to this report.
And also, I think these days the Chinese Chambers of Commerce in Poland,
Spain and Italy have, issued the statements expressing their serious concerns.
So, I want to know how well the EU address these concerns and ensure that the measures are evidence-based,
proportionate, and non-discriminatory. Thank you. Thank you.
My reply to you is that not everything is about money.
You have a strong security dimension that Europe is these days taking into account,
and this is precisely why we have taken the Cybersecurity Act forward with our proposal.
We need to secure our supply chain in different strategic areas from, I don't know, solar panels, connectivity, nuclear,
and I can go on judicial healthcare, and I can go on and go on and go on.
Our supply chain has to be resilient, secure, and has to protect EU interests and EU consumers.
So this is not a this is not a question about money, it's a question about security.
Thank you, Thomas. Other questions, Thomas? Still to go ahead and.
