Since its creation, the European Commission has continually adapted its communication channels in order to inform European citizens. This evolution reflects not only technological transformations, but also a gradual change in the relationship between institutions and citizens: from a vertical information model to a more direct and participatory interaction. This production offers a visual interpretation of the evolution of the communication channels used by the European Commission, and by the EESC before, to inform citizens, from the early printed materials to today's interactive digital devices. With no voice-over or explanatory commentary, the narrative is based exclusively on a compilation of archives, by decade, from the European Commission's medialibrary. Muted and subtitled version.
