The JRC Counter-Unmanned Aircraft systems Living Lab (or JRC C-UAS Living Lab) is a testing and evaluation facility dedicated to counter-unmanned aircraft systems technologies.
It focuses on the detection, tracking, and identification of drones (UAS - Unmanned Aircraft Systems) using radar, radio frequency sensors, electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) cameras, and acoustic sensors. By integrating multiple sensor types, the lab ensures comprehensive monitoring and enhances situational awareness in various operational environments.
Supporting EU Member States, the lab strengthens testing capabilities, promotes best practices, and ensures compliance with EU security regulations. It collaborates with law enforcement, industry, and policymakers to validate Counter drone (C-UAS – Counter-UAS) solutions for protecting critical infrastructure and public spaces.
