EC seminar in Val Duchesse: arrivals and round table
On 1 September 2010, after the summer break, the Members of the EC, returned to work for the first weekly meeting. They gathered in the castle of Val Duchesse, situated in Brussels.
One of the important issues was the expulsions of Roma in France and their situation in Europe. The College was analyzing the legality of the French policy in order to say whether measures comply with EU laws on free movement.
The College of the EC also discussed the strengthening of customs cooperation between the European Union and China and the fight against fraud while Algirdas Šemeta, Member of the EC in charge of Taxation and Customs Union, Audit and Anti-Fraud, was visiting China.
