On 8 September 1999, the Members of the Santer Commission gathered for their last weekly meeting. The meeting was chaired by Manuel Marín, acting President of the EC. The following topics were on the agenda: guidelines for employment in 2000; financial guidelines for community initiatives Interreg, Urban, Leader and Equal; structural funds allocated to rural development; and retroactive budget for 1999.
