On 23 August 2026, ahead of the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's regained independenceand on the very day of Ukraine National Flag Day, the Berlaymont building, headquarters of the European Commission, was illuminated in blue and yellow to reaffirm EU solidarity with Ukraine.
