Automated border control at Keflavík Airport – The Entry/Exit System (EES) enables faster and simpler border checks. Notably, it replaces traditional passport stamping with digital registration for non-EU/EEA nationals travelling for short stays
Automated border control at Keflavík Airport – In addition to simplifying border crossings, the EES (Entry/Exit System) aims to strengthen the security of the Schengen Area's external borders, as the system records entries and exits and automatically calculates the duration of the authorized stay
Automated border control at Keflavík Airport – The Entry/Exit System (EES) collects data relating to identity and travel documents (full name, date of birth, etc.) as well as biometric data (fingerprints and facial images). In order to prevent, detect or investigate terrorist offences or other serious criminal offences, designated law enforcement authorities and the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) may request access to EES data
