Leonardo is one of the supercomputers supported by the EU as part of the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU), allowing participating countries to coordinate their efforts and pool their resources to make Europe a world leader in supercomputing. Supercomputers are vital to boost Europe's scientific excellence and industrial strength and to support the digital transformation of the economy. Through the establishment of AI factories around these EuroHPC facilities, they also play a key role towards the growth of a highly competitive and innovative AI ecosystem in Europe.
