Visit of Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, to Brazil
From 17 to 19 November 2024, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, travelled to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.On 17, she had a bilateral meeting with Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of Brazil, and took part in the Global Citizens NOW Event with Cyril Ramaphosa, President of South Africa.On 18 and 19, she participated at the G20 events such as meetings and Working sessions. "Launch of the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty", Working Session – Session I: “Social Inclusion and the Fight against Hunger and Poverty”, and Working Session – Session II: “Reform of Global Governance Institutions”, for the 18th and Working Session III – “Sustainable Development and Energy Transitions”, for the 19th. On that last day, she also presented the G20 Social Summit Reports and took part in the Closing Session and Handing Over Ceremony.
