
On 20 April 2023, Dubravka Šuica, Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of Democracy and Demography, travelled to Kyiv, Ukraine, together with Camilla Waltersson Grönvall, Swedish Minister for Social Services, on behalf of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and Ewa Kopacz, Vice-President of the European Parliament. On this occasion, Dubravka Šuica participated in a wreath laying ceremony at the Wall of Remembrance of the Fallen for Ukraine and attended a meeting with members of the Ukrainian Government on child protection and rights, care systems and reforms. She also visited the Sviatoshyn District Youth Dormitory and met with Daria Herasymchuk, advisor to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, on Children's Rights and Children's Rehabilitation.
