On 7 September 2010, José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, participated in a plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, where he delivered the first State of the Union address. The President of the EC stated the 5 main priorities for 2011, mainly Economic governance of the EU; Growth; Freedom, Security and Justice; EU Budget and the EU on the global stage.#SOTEU
