Lionel Jospin, French Prime Minister, accompanied amongst others by Hubert Védrine, French Minsiter for Foreign Affairs, met Romano Prodi, President of the European Commission, and took part in a Commission meeting. Subjects tackled in his presents were enlargement, the future of Europe post-Nice and the White Paper on Governance, preparation for the Stockholm European Council, Commission reform and foot and mouth disease.
