Siim Kallas, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Transport, gave a press conference after his meeting with the high-level group on air cargo security. In response to the recent attempted parcel bomb attacks, the EC proposed a series of recommendations to tighten controls of air cargo from countries outside the EU. As a reminder, on 29 October 2010, two parcel bombs were intercepted in Dubai and the United Kingdom in cargo planes from Yemen.
